Hundreds of Montreal children spent a fun-filled exciting evening at the 40th annual Beth Rivkah Chanukah Carnival.
The children enjoyed many carnival booths, giant inflatable rides, clowns, and a Chanukah puppet-show, as well as refreshments from the canteen. There were 2 showings of an original “Mad Science – Chanukah version” show.
The Chanukah candles were lit on a giant Menorah. All the children received Chanukah Gelt, money for Tzedoko, a dreidel, free cotton-candy and prizes.
Special thanks to Baila Shizgal and Menucha Sperlin for organizing the beautiful carnival, Rabbi Dovid Weinbaum for directing the program before and after the Mad Science shows, and Kaila Fine for coordinating the canteen.
Rabbi Yosef Minkowitz, principal of Beth Rivkah, treated the 70 High School students involved in the carnival to a pizza lunch. He expressed his gratitude to them and emphasized that “over the years the Rebbe spent many, many precious hours exclusively with children at Chanukah rallies (in addition to the many other children’s rallies). What a great zechus it is to follow in the Rebbe’s footsteps and bring a Nachas Ruach to the Rebbe. This makes us aware that we are the lucky ones who benefit when we reach out to others.”
