The Chabad community in Montreal, one of the only cities in the world which organized a Grand Lag BaOmer Parade whether its Sunday or in middle of the week, celebrate the yahrzeit of the Rashbi.
2000 kides showed up from 15 Jewish schools of Montréal for the event that began in front of beis rivkah in a display of Jewish unity and pride, as instructed by the Rebbe.
Young students recited the 12 Pesukim followed by greetings
greetings from Chabad dayan Rabbi David Raphael Banon.
10 car floats and Creative float prepared by bochurim of the Yeshiva Zal and a upsernish horse and buggy float decorated by the chaya mushka seminary
Children marching held signs in both English and French calling to “Learn Torah” and “Love your fellow Jew” as they walked down Westbury avenue passing the Lubavitch yesivah to van horne park forA fascinating concert with Chaim Fogelman circus shows, magic show and raffles concluded yet another Lag BaOmer day in Montreal surely to be remembered until next year.
Rabbi Dovid Cohen, the organizer was the emcee, and greeted participants to the festival honoring Rabbi Shimon bar Yochei’s yahrzeit. and thanked the Head Shliach Rabbi Berel Mochkin for his leadership.
Special thanks was given to Yisrael Cohen for coming to town and making this year’s parade happen.
