I have been ranting about drugs and alcohol for years, but guess what? There is no problem with alcohol or drugs in the Chabad community. If we are unwilling to admit there are problems in our schools and with our teachers and administrators then we will never take the steps to solve them.

I want to hear him talk. Please make an online broadcast for OOTS. Thanks!

Yes some people may have this problem but, let’s not blow it out of proportion, 99.9 of bachurim/girls who follow threw the system do not! Have this issue!

thank you for doing SOMETHING in the right direction!
March 9, 2014 9:17 pm

why is it that every time someone does something good people start complaining ‘why dont they do something else?’

anyone who does good is commended for it and if YOU have better ideas of what to make gatherings about-than YOU organize them.

you think there are more important issues to adress? go ahead and arrange them. some people feel this is important and good for them that they are doing something good about it.
stop bashing when one does good and saying ‘not good enough’

Thank you

To all those complaining about drugs and alcohol problem in the community, YES CAYhas already addressed this problem, non of these rabbonim will ever address the problem.

I’m sure you mean a problem with SOME of our teachers and administrators. Some times it actually is the parents believe it or not and sometimes…it’s just the times we live in.

go rabbi ganz!!!!

he is one person that definitely speaks with seichel as apposed to speaking out of pure personal negi’us without making any sense

If we all realize and recognize that the answer(s) to all of our questions , doubts & problems can be found in Chabad chassidus and its extensions i.e. sichos, maamorim, igros; of ALL of our Rabbeim, we not only protect ourselves from “shofar” (we wouldn’t have to go searching there to begin with), but of course we would have the background and means to protect ourselves, our children, our community etc. against all foreign elements and to remain connected. “TAAMU U’RIOOH KI TOV…!”

Climbing up the wrong tree

Stop bashing shofar. It is in the past. Why doesn’t somebody worry about the lack of tznius in the community? Or the alcohol/drugs that the kids are drinking, smoking, etc?

360 degree feedback
March 9, 2014 2:09 pm

This means getting input and feedback from all perspectives. Those to be consulted should be mashpiim, experts in chinuch, parents and it is especially important to hear from our teens and young adults. All the stakeholders who are concerned about our future should be involved in a task force to address these vulnerable times.

no, that is not all but we must start somewhere. As Chassidim, we always use darkness as an impetus for light. Why should “call of the shofar” saga be any different?

speeches are nice bu
March 9, 2014 12:53 pm

A good speech is great it inspires, you walk away feeling empowered, you have a new sense of purpose and direction. In two weeks maybe a month these speeches and inspiration were a distant memory. What Chabad needs to do to keep these going is empower people and create support groups in a safe supportive environment. It also needs to break down Chassidus into usable practical tools that can be implimented on a daily basis. Chassidus has such a treasure trove of beautful tools, but what we needs is to boil it down to ten or eleven practical tools that… Read more »

The question is the same everytime: will there be a broadcast? or a replay for all anash ?

Thanks Merkaz Anash for organizing this.

Not Just The Call
March 9, 2014 12:48 pm

Is that really all we have to do? “protect ourselves from the saga of call of the shofar”?
What about the state of our chinuch system and its lack of keeping children connected?
While it’s a move in the right direction, presenting this evening of mashpiim and speakers, there’s alot more work to do in our community than “protect ourselves from the saga…..”
