Hundreds of women gathered on Thursday night to mark five years since the founding of the Shifra and Puah organization of Crown Heights, which assists women in the community who have recently given birth.
The event, which took place at Lubavitch Yeshiva, honored the volunteers who work throughout the year to prepare breakfasts and provide housekeeping and other assistance to new mothers.
Guests who arrived for the event were greeted by an appetizer bar, decorated with a photo gallery of the organization’s activities.
The event began with the Rebbe’s video and the niggun of ‘veharikoti lachem bracha’ which was the theme of the evening, as well as a humorous video featuring businessman Duddy Farkash depicting a father busy with his children, emphasizing the importance and need for the work of the Shifra and Puah organization.
The evening’s MC Mrs. Margalit Chudaitov inspired the crowd on the importance of contributing to this vital organization.
Rabbi Levi Garelik gave a Dvar Torah and spoke about the importance of helping the others in our community, especially new mothers.
The evening continued with special thanks to all the volunteers.
A raffle of a dollar from the Rebbe donated by Mrs. Jacobson was raffled off, the winner was Nechama Goldman.
The event concluded with a performance by Smadar Morag, who presented her story in a humorous and entertaining way.
The success of the evening is thanks to organizers who worked tirelessly for the success of the event: Margalit Chudaitov, Shlomit Slapochnik, Chani Farkash, Michla Segal, Chani Cohen, Rivkah Holtzman, Bracha Sternberg, Leah Hendel and Devorah Reinitz.
