After months of learning and test-taking, student finalists from schools across the globe competed against each other at the grand international Chidon Sefer Hamitzvos in Crown Heights.
After arriving in New York from Australia, England, Canada and around the US, semi-finalists took their final test on Thursday to determine who would move on to the final round.
The weekend culminated in a grand live game show on Sunday, showcasing the talent and grit of Lubavitch’s best students.
MC Rabbi Dovid Weinbaum opened the program at the sold out public school auditorium on Albany Avenue in Crown Heights.
The vibe in the room was electric, as the event began with a concert by singer Benny Friedman, followed by a video of the Rebbe speaking about the importance of learning Rambam.
The Chidon “Jewpardy” game followed, where the Chidon finalists displayed their incredible knowledge.
Winners received medals and seforim in recognition of their efforts to learn the Rambam through Tzivos Hashem’s Living Lessons materials.
The exciting news was shared at the event that next year’s Chidon will include a Chidon for both boys and girls.
