Government Funding

Bad idea. There’s no way they won’t meddle in Chabad affairs, and there’s no way the recipients of the money will remain uninfluenced by their benefactors. In fact, at the risk of sounding like a conspiracy nut, I wonder if this isn’t a clever idea aimed at muting Chabad, which is sometimes a thorn in the governments side (e.g. shleimus ha’aretz).

It seems at 1st glance to be a very smart and kind action by Margi if you ask me. I agree about Shas in general, but this sounds very good

Shas is such a hypocritical party. they’ll support Rabin and Peres, as long as he gives them money, they’ll support Sharon as long as he gives them money, they’ll support Olmert as long as he gives money, and they’ll Netanyahu as long as he gives them money. They have to know that Chabat is not for sale, and they can’t expect to get our support by paying us off. Or can they?

point to ponder
