By Yosef Abramov
Entertainment, drama, toichen, and an empowering lesson, were all delivered this Chanukah from the boys of the Chabad of Miami Gardens community of Shluchim.
This year the Lubavitch Educational Center did not have to look far to find performers for their annual Chanukah event. Their very own students performed the story titled, “The Miracle Lights,” a Tale of a Chossid’s Faith in the Words of his Rebbe.
Costumes, backdrops, music, props, and a lot of practice was evident when hundreds of L.E.C. students and several communities in the neighborhood sat back mesmerized by the spectacular performance of the Chabad of Miami Gardens Traveling Theater.
Students from the crowd got a taste of snow, blowing out from snow machines and were given the opportunity to get on stage and act out the most action-packed scene.
Headed by Rabbi Sholem Kleinman and directed by Rabbi Yosef Abramov, this play was another implementation of the vision of the Shluchim/Anash community of Miami Gardens.
Coordinators, Rabbi Chaim Schechter and Morah Esti Boaz, L.E.C.’s extracurricular activities directors for the Elementary and Young Divisions, and Mrs. Sossonko and Morah Tzivi Schurder, principals of the Elementary School and Young Division, were very pleased with the show.
“The kids absolutely loved it! So beautiful to see our own boys shine! Was well done, to the point, and exciting!” said Morah Tzivi Schurder.
The actors were Alter Schapiro, Avi Atzmon, Avremi Brody, Chaim Aryeh Brody, Eli Bortunk, Gavi Tauber, Hillel Schapiro, Laibel Tauber, Levi Bialo, Levi Tauber, Lipa Schapiro, Mendel Abramov, Mendel Kaplan, Mendel Menaker, Mendel Schechter, Mendy Chabosha, Mendy Schapiro, Moshe Abramov, Schneur Kaplan, Shmulik Kleinman and Yossi Kleinman.
