From rain forecasted to mild weather, over 3000 people from all parts of the community came to a phenomenal evening at Golders Green Station.
Rabbi Mendel Gordon, the annual MC, opened the proceedings, introducing the Mayor of Barnet and other dignitaries including an Inspector from the Metropolitan Police and a member of Government.
First the children started the evening with the 12 Pesukim and Maamorei Chazzal, children from all over London were chosen, ending with Yossi Glitzenstein singing Yehi Rotzon and Sheyiboneh.
An unbelievable glow show was next, the lights turned into dreidels and Menorahs as well as the Tzivos Hashem logo and Chabad – really spectacular.
The children were all given balloons, Chanukah gelt and dreidels. The clowns and dreidel man really got the place dancing.
Rabbi Eli Levin was the guest singer along with a band, Rabbi Yisroel Cyprys on the keyboard, Mr. Gedalia and Eli Rutman on the guitars and Shimmy Hambling on the drums.
Shimmy Abramson sung for the crowd too, a very emotional Chanukah song.
Hot kugel was enjoyed by everyone as well as the traditional doughnuts.
The event was enjoyed by all and was organized by Rabbi Yossi and Chanie Simon and Dr. and Mrs. Bunim Weinbaum. A big shout out to the Bochrim of Lubavitch Yeshiva who really helped with the event.
This was the finale of the public lighting each evening at Golders Green Station, attracting many hundreds of people and having all different guests of honors and Chazzonim. Over the week a lot of mivtzoyim were done and many Menorahs were given out.
