Mayanot Institute Celebrating 25 Years of Visionary Education

In the heart of Jerusalem, in a building overlooking Gan Sacher and the Machane Yehuda shuk, a Vision is unfolding.

The plans carefully laid, the foundation poured, the lights wired – the major overhaul is well underway, on track for completion six months from now. Soon, the Vision will take on a life of its own.

The institution responsible for it has already impacted tens of thousands of souls through 25 years of innovation, connection, and authenticity. The method is simple, the results profound: Visionary Education is the signature style and modus operandi of the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies. This is a place where leaders are empowered, identities are discovered, and values are solidified. This is a learning place, a spiritual place, a growth place, a home place.

Programs ranging from yeshiva learning to post-Birthright Israel opportunities, to internships and more, are part of the illustrious past and define the ever-brightening future of this cornerstone institution. The overhauled building will become an international edifice of Jewish learning – the Mayanot World Center is nearly ready.

With its opening, the Center is set to launch an explosion of programs aimed to engage young Jewish adults to help deepen their connection to their heritage. The 220 beds will house both long-term and short-term students, interns, and lone soldiers. With each day comes a new opportunity for connection, and thus 220 beds will invite 73,000 opportunities each year for young adults to plug into Judaism in the most authentic, hands-on way possible.

With a 25-year legacy to celebrate, this milestone is major. Not because the team at Mayanot is one to pat itself on the back. This group sees a milestone as a stepping stone, a stepping stone as a launch pad, and 25 is a big one.
