Eastern Parkway thoroughfare in Crown Heights will be closed Shabbos morning from 6am to 9am due to a marathon.
The “Rock ‘n Roll” marathon will run from Grand Army Plaza to Albany ave.
Residents who want to cross Eastern Parkway between 6am and 9am should cross on Albany ave.
Can we join fr a half block to get to the 749 mikveh?
City should build a bridge to cross EP between Kingston and Brooklyn. They once had that in a show during lag baomer parade with a tightrope act.
the Twin Cities Marathon ran through our neighborhood on
Succos. Rabbi Moshe Feller ran along and bentched esrog
with a Jewish runner whom he knew. He also bentched with
spectators.

lol..not sure you’d be doning much tefillin on someone in the middle of a marathon!
if it was during the week we would be wrapping tefilin
Be reasonable, please. This community has been so accomodated this month, it’s time for others to also enjoy. To get along with your neighbors, be a good neighbor.
So shuls start early. Hopefully all the boys and men will be looking at the tehillim and not at the runners.
BUT fair is fair. Remember we had hakhel that closed EP during RUSH HOUR! And Kingston every night for a week!
Also this is a marathon – not likely to have the same rowdy, frightening crowd as the parade a couple of months ago.
Let them enjoy!
We had the streets closed off for us fairly often in the last month. Let’s be a little fair. Also you do realise that not only Lubavitchers live in Crown Heights and maybe they are running? And maybe they get annoyed when they can’t drive through a bunch of streets? Last point, it’s only for 3 hours and it won’t block most of Crown Heights residents to get to 770, and in case you are thinking that I’m not being effected, I am but I understand them and am not complaining.
These people are not hurting anyone by running, most Shuls do not start davening till 10a,m.
Most of the runners will already have passed before 8am. After that time community affairs officers have been asked to allow people to cross at times that it will not disturb the runners.
The bochurim at the dorm can’t even be bothered to walk to the Kingston corner to cross the street, they constantly jaywalk. I’m almost willing to get up early on Shabbos just to see the bochurim try to jaywalk a marathon. -an EP resident
why in the world are they running in our neighborhood? i bet you not a single person from Crown Heights will be running
