A man is in police custody after allegedly being seen on video walking up to a woman in Brooklyn and hitting her in the face — breaking her jaw in the process.
The suspect was brought in by police around 6 p.m. Tuesday, but no charges have yet been filed for the assault on the 71-year-old woman walking along New York Avenue in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens on Sept. 19.
Police released surveillance video of the suspect video walking in the opposite direction on the sidewalk before seemingly out of nowhere turning to the woman and punching her in the face, police said.
The brazen daytime attack transpired just a few blocks away from an NYPD stationhouse. Police say the man has been seen around the neighborhood prior to the incident and that he may be mentally disturbed.
The victim was knocked to the ground and left unconscious, cops said, as the man kept on walking calmly away. The woman was hospitalized in serious but stable condition with a broken jaw and cuts to her mouth that required stitches.

Doesn’t look like she was jewish but does it really matter? An attack is an attack regardless of who the victim is.

This is no longer an isolated incident with one attacker, this seems to be a trend, there must be either a person or group that promotes this kind of hate and violence, we need to stop this at the source.
Perhaps the woman that mapped Brooklyn with Jewish stars or other people like her.
This location is in the 71st PCT. The “Crown Heights” branch of the Brooklyn Public Library is even farther south on NY Ave. than the location of the horrific incident.
This incident occurred in CROWN HEIGHTS — whether you identify it as such, or not — not in “Prospect-Lefferts Gardens,” which is west of where this incident occurred. The awful act happened on the border of “Prospect-Lefferts Gardens,” but it was in Crown Heights.

We used to single out the African community as the perpetrators of crime against the Yidden.
But, the whites are worse! Look at Pittsburgh and Poway.

Keep increasing the amount of mentally ill /drug addicted homeless people in CH and of course there will be more events like this.
This is one of the rarer cases where the sucker punch or knock out attack was black on black crime.
Crown Heights/Brooklyn – stop being so provincal. Most of the currently reported violent incidents are the result of untreated or undertreated mental health issues or drug use. The perpatrators commonly lash out randomly, often tageting the closest person or perceived enemy, even family or close friends.
