A 55-year-old woman in Israel has become a mother for the first time.
On Monday, Moshe Estrika and his wife Chana, of Kfar Chabad, merited their first child, a son, after 24 years of waiting. From early morning, Moshe said, the phone calls did not stop pouring in, with relatives and friends wishing congratulations.
During the past 24 years the wife underwent numerous fertility treatments, and eight months ago finally became pregnant, but experienced various complications, which Professor Moshe Hod, head of the High-Risk Pregnancy Unit at the Rabin Medical Centre in Petah Tikva, said were typical of her age.
On Monday she gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
A commenter on the Hebrew COL site wrote this anecdote:
“Two years ago, Moshe Estrik wrote to the Rebbe in the Igros Kodesh asking for a blessing for children. When he opened the Igros he saw the words: “meshaneh makom meshaneh mazel” – changing places would change his luck.
At that time, Kfar Chabad just completed construction of a new district. Moshe appealed to the leadership of Kfar Chabad and asked to buy an apartment. He took out a loan and bought a new apartment. Sure enough, two years later the ‘Rebbe’s Brachah’ was fulfilled.
Now, boruch Hashem, he will be able to bring his new child into the home after waiting for over two decades.”
