Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni was scheduled to visit the Rosenberg residence in Afula for Nichum Avelim today. Instead, she contacted the grieving families through a phone call last night, as she would be unable to make it today.
In a conversation with COLLive, her spokesman apologized, saying, “their conversation was very personal, therefore I cannot give you any details.”
Throughout the conversation, he said, “The Minister praised the work of Chabad and shluchim throughout the world. He said you don’t have to be an observant Jew to understand the great magnitude of their work.”
According to her spokesman, “She asked to remain in touch with the family, and to be informed of Memorial events that will take place in the future.”
A family member told COLLive that at the end of their conversation the family thanked the Minister for the work of her office during the tragedy.
