You miss the point as many many others in our midst… I have been to the camps that you mention and have seen all these practices which, in my humble opinion, are the opposite of the proper Chinuch. For your info, i have directed meny camp sessions that included many that came from non frum families. I do agree with you that in such camps the border line is a little different, but still the focus was different. reading your reply, I wondered – was it necessary to call me a deragatory title? Why the need to offend me personally?… Read more »

nobody from camp needed or wanted this video to be on the lubavitch sites. but in order to get it online it has to go through you tube you should blame the organizers of the site for displaying it to the lubavitch pulic and besides nobody asked you to watch or to be online at all!!!!

    you are a liar!

i know from a fact that the camp has sent this video to lubavitch websites – the first and the second video

maybe someome from collive should confirm what im saying is true…

how square minded! true the video was sent to the sites, but the point that 28 is trying to makes, and this applies to 24/20 as well, the video was made, not with the chabad sites in mind, meaning, thats not who the video is catered to. it was made for the enjoyment of the campers. being that most of chabad enjoys seeing what goes on in different chabad organizations, it was shared with the chabad news sites, to publicize. too bad that some of the viewers are so small minded, and self centered, and start complaining that it is… Read more »

Just by the way, if your doing “shlichus” of the “Rebbe’, than the Rebbe said many times “mkorVON laTorah” – your mekarev THEM to the Torah not lowering “the Torah (‘s standards) to THEM…” vdal

    to 32
    Guest
    to 32

why is it being mekarev the torah to them?
what exactly is being done “wrong”?
just that YOU dont like it, and think it should be done differently?!
you make accusations, back it up!

I didn’t say that this is being mekarev the Torah to them etc.
I’m just saying that the general attitude people have today that its “Shlichus”, so your allowed to do things in the way of non Jews, as prevalent here in the above video, and your reference to shluchim speaches, that is just another example. Speaches are suppose to be a Torah message, and camp is meant to impart YIDDISHKEIT! Not nonsense.
All I see is that these days…it’s the crazier the merrier…

    are you kidding me?!
    whats “non jewish” going on?
i am not saying that a shliach can say what he wants, or that you can do whatever you like, but if a shliach gets up and says “the rebbe says in sefer hasichos, tof shin tes zayin, that its shchinah…”, or go try getting up in a not frum camp and say “the rebbe writes in todays hayom yom…”
dont you see there is a difference in how we speak to others, and how we speak to our own?!

and yes, the camp DOES impart yiddishkeit. and in a major oifen! just you, as a VERY smart outsider, judging from a video, which is packed with inside jokes, and done by staff who the kids know, and even in the videos, you can see the tzitzis campaign, and the pesukim etc. etc. but yes, as shlichus, it needs to be presented in a way that will pump the kids up about it, while still maintaining the purity, which these videos DO. either you have no experience in chinuch, or camp, or both. come out of your box, and think… Read more »

I can’t wait until Video#3-This camp would definitely give the Rebbe nachas-the chayius that you are generating is just what our kids need. My friends kids in other camps are writing home no chayius-do yu have in more space left-you are making yiddishkeit exciting exactly what the youth in CH need-Yosher Koach-is the blonde wig a Shevy?

don’t even answ all these grumpy “holier then thou” comments. It’s a beautiful, well done video.Transmits alot of chayus and yidishkeit. You guys are doing a great job ,and much success in camp, and the next video. Only people that work get criticized, and it’s the people that don’t work who do the criticizing. Especially people who don’t have a clue what Shlichus is.Don”t bother answering their comments.GOOD LUCK

You guys are doing a great job both B’gashmiyus & Ruchnius. A summer like this will be hard to follow. Be proud of yourselves and the Chayus you are imparting to the many campers. Toronto & LDC are fortunate to have Bochurim like these on staff. Hatzlacha U’bracha to each of the staff members.

    great stuff..
and, rather than this effectively ‘lowering’ torah as you say, in fact, it’s elevating aspects of the contemporary wold. We ARE part of the world and this only goes to prove an element of ishapcha – turning the seemingly ‘bad’ elements of media and public persuasion into good.
    Well done!
