On Vancouver Island, a “Light of Shabbat” project was launched in memory of Rabbi Gavriel and Rivky Holtzberg, slain shluchim to Mumbai.
This project was inspired by the dedication and selflessness of this couple in providing the light of Shabbat and Jewish Holidays to every Jew who happened to come by.
In honor of their first yahrtzeit, a night of recognition was held for the volunteers of the “Light of Shabbat” project, who dedicated their time and effort to to bringing the light of Shabbat to many Jewish homes on the Island.
Shliach Rabbi Dov Greenberg of Stanford University delivered a tribute presentation to Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg.
