On Wednesday, young girls and their mothers were treated to a fun and inspiring event, called the “Make the World A Better Place Story & Concert” by the all new Lite Girl brand at the Levi Yitzchak Library.
The library was founded by Shluchim Rabbi Zalman and Chanie Wolowik of Chabad of the Five Towns, NY and Lisa Hawk in memory of the Wolowik’s beloved son Levi Yitzchak obm.
LITE is an acronym for Love, Inspire, Teach, Encourage. The LITE Girl’s mission is to empower Jewish girls with core Jewish values so they can make the world a better place. Mrs. Malky Weinstock, Lite Girl’s Founder, and book author, introduced a life-size foam version of the original Lite Girl character, Yael whose exemplary Middos and charming appeal render her a beloved role model and meaningful alternative to secular play characters. Malky then read Yael’s introductory book, “Yael’s Loving World”, a 36 page vibrantly illustrated picture book which gently transmits the principles of Ahavas Hashem and Ahavas Yisroel.
Following the reading, the happy girls (and a few little boys too!) were treated to a lively mini-concert with accomplished singer/musician Rachel Ravitz, featuring the Lite Girl song as well as other niggunim. There was spirited singing along and dancing. Following the event, the Yael Intro Books (which include a read-along audio musical CD) were available for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Levi Yitzchak Library. The library has books for children, teens and adults, and is a uniquely cozy-almost magical destination for kids, with its beautiful hands-on interactive environment.
The library is open to the public Sun-Thursday: Sun 11-5, Mon-group visits, Tues & Thurs 11-7, Wed 11-5:30pm. To order your “Yael’s Loving World” set, or for information about bringing the Lite Girl Concert to your Chabad preschool in the Tri-state area, visit www.bealitegirl.com.
