I think there is validity in both opinions. It is our place to spread Yiddishkeit, but in a way of “kol kvada bas melech pnima” as the Rebbe emphasized many times. Does speaking publicly to a mixed crowd fit in with “kol kvuda bas melech pnima”? I don’t know. Each of us has to ask a Rav, But, with all respect, to #8, don’t be so quick to tell us all to “give up your shlucha hat”. First, check with a Rav if that is what you are supposed to be doing al pi halacha, and if it is, kol… Read more »

Dear Very Disappointed,

Pleas name ONE shlucha who got up to speak publicly (in front of men) before 3 Tammuz 5754.

Thank you in advance.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

As a long time shlucha i very disappointed in some of the above comments. “we should know our place?” Our place is up there spreading the Rebbe’s teachings. to MEN, women and children.!! ..You don’t like it, give up your shlucha hat!

Interesting.
As for me, I am proud to be one of the many shluchos who have never and will never speak publicly in front of men. I help my husband with EVERYTHING, but public speaking isn’t for us.

Beautiful writeup

We should continue to live up to the praises that you’ve written and succeed in our Schlichus to usher in the era of Moshiach!

My husband and I were part of Rabbi Goldberg’s shul for more than fifteen years and in that time, we saw him become transformed from a young, inexperienced YU graduate, to a powerful force in the Boca Raton community and indeed in the entire YU hierarchy.
Rabbi Goldberg began studying Tanya at age 40 with the Chabad rabbis and has been a ‘Chossid’ ever since. His talks have become infused with Chassidishe ‘varimkeit’ and he remains a formidable voice in the greater Jewish community.
