Several Chabad Houses in the eastern sections of Los Angeles including Chabad Centers of: Los Feliz, Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, Studio City, Mount Olympus, University of Southern California and Larchmont, gathered together at the famous Griffith Observatory for Birchas HaChama.
The eastern observation terrace at the Griffith Observatory is known as one of the best places in the entire Los Angeles to watch the sun rise.
The brocho was said under a brilliantly bright sunrise, and a beautiful blue sky with not one cloud in the sky — despite weather forecasts of heavy clouds and rain. It was a truly spectacular event with many people in participation and a genuine kiddush shem Lubavitch.
Participating Shluchim were: Rabbis Leibel Korf (Los Feliz — who wonderfully explained to all in participation the importance of this event), Yossi Baitelman (Studio City), Shmully Kornfeld (Burbank), Simcha Backman (Glendale), Sholom Ber Rodal (Mt. Olympus), Dov Wagner (USC), Chaim Hanoka (Pasadena) and Mendel Cunin (Larchmont).
