In honor of the Shloshim of Yossi Kreiman, the young Chosson who was so tragically and unexpectedly torn from our midst at the age of twenty three, a special Kovetz of notes and explanations on various Torah topics has been published.
In the last few years, in addition to his regular schedule of learning, Yossi would spend much of his free time studying Mishnayos specifically. He studied in-depth as he always would, but also covered much ground and indeed, had his life not been so prematurely cut short, he would have very soon completed a full study of the entire Mishnah.
Naturally, Yossi’s constant involvement in wide-ranging and in-depth Torah study brought him to write many notes and innovative explanations on a broad range of Torah topics, which were published in various Torah journals over the years. We have attempted to gather as many of Yossi’s writings as possible and here republish them in a single volume. It is only fitting that in seeking to emulate Yossi’s own ways and preserve his memory, many of the distinguished and erudite Rabbis under whose tutelage he studied, or whom he was privileged to know, as well as his friends, have penned their own notes and explanations of Torah topics, and they too are published here alongside those of Yossi himself. We have also included a scholarly essay by Yossi’s illustrious great grandfather, the renowned Rabbi Yisroel Yitzchak Piekarski, who served for many years as Rosh Yeshiva in the Central Yeshiva Toimchei Temimim in 770.
We hope and pray that the entire Kreiman family should never again know of any pain, and that they only encounter happiness and joy forevermore. May we merit the fulfillment of the promise that “those who dwell in the dust shall rise and rejoice”, and Yossi amongst them, with the coming of the final and complete redemption, may it be immediately.

“UMACHA HASHEM DIMAH MEI AL KOL PONIM”
I knew Yossi very well and I an touched at the effort and achdus of all the things that have been done in his memory. My heart goes out to the family on losing their only son weeks before his chasunah. We can only sit here and ask WHY? We will always miss Yossi’s great sense of humor and lomdus…..
Why is it that we don’t hear about such precious boys while they live and light up the world? Simply a Bochur that sat and learned and seemingly was a great Talmid Chochom, shouldn’t such boys be put on a pedestal all the time? Its time to start valuing Talmidei Chachomim, not just great Mivtzoim doers, after all, the Rebbe wants a Bochur to have Torah as his primary occupation, and Mivtzoim only as secondary. Somehow, we emphasize the secondary over the primary. I’m sure that as special as Yossi Z”L was, there are hundreds like him, may they live… Read more »
