Preparations are underway to hold Chabad’s most lavish dinner party in a 110,000 square-foot warehouse at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal on Sunday, November 23, 2014.
The spot located along the Bay Ridge Channel in Sunset Park will be transformed into a magnificent banquet hall for the occasion by event producers David Scharf and Ronen Peled.
The Gala Banquet will conclude the International Kinus Hashluchim convention that brings together thousands of Chabad Shluchim from around the world and their supporters.
“Registration for the Kinus Banquet has reached a record-breaking high,” organizers from Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch reported on Thursday.
We’re told that conference chairman Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky met with coordinators Rabbi Mendel Kotlarsky and Rabbi Schneur Nejar to figure out how to seat the thousands of registrants from around the world.
“As of now, a week before the kinus, more than 4500 people already registered,” a Merkos spokesman told COLlive.com.
A couple of years back, the New York Times Blog remarked that the conference effectively hosts the largest sit-down meal in New York’s history with over 90 chefs and 340 waiters working, Times of Israel reported.
Tks R Moshe, Mendel lipa and the whole team
Hashem with the Rebbes Brochos should give you all continued koiach to keep the Rebbes army of shluchim and Shluchois and their baalei bait inspired!!
The Rebbe and “seating” in the Beis Hamikdash…what a thought…let’s make it a reality!!! Give what you can to the shluchim…they are on the front lines
I have a relative who is on shlichus: No meat, milk or chicken, closest mikva is 80 miles away, he sees a minyan once a month if lucky, no Jewish kids in the neighborhood, closest Jewish school is 4 driving hours away…But its all WORTH IT because this is what the Rebbe wants…help another Jew that doesn’t have access to help
All the thousands of hours of hard work makes the kinus so beautiful.
It gives shluchim practical help and networking opportunities as well as represents the Rebbe’s incredible impact on the world!
Couldn’t help but notice the picture of the rebbe hanging on the wall. The rebbe watching and I’m sure sheping so much nachas. Shluchim you are taking over the world!!!!
NYC would already have a massive convention center and they dont have to build one from scratch for the shluchim…!!
BTW Love Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky SH”Y, a great friend, home was always open in the 80s to a hungry yeshiva bochur.
