how does this relate to not so much as “buying” merchandise but using a service. in a neighborhood there is a jewish dry cleaners cleaners and a goyish dry cleaners. their prices are quite similliar and service the same. Are you allowed to use the non jewish dry cleaners over the jewish owned dry cleaners?

How about flipping houses by a yid to a yid? How do we know what the usual and customary amount of profit is considered appropriate by Halacha? At what point does it become taking advantage of another yid?

Also, how about the shopkeeper who is rude to his customers and does not have good business practices. Maybe this is why he is losing customers.

The Aibishter determines a persons income for the entire year on Rosh Hashona and not a penny more. One can save here but loose there. I have personally seen people who shop at
Chains loose money in other ways including loosing a job.

Maybe it can connect to baba metzia 33a, where it says that even though one’s personal money comes before someone else’s, one should go more than the halacha requires and take care of other people first (in case of a small loss, rashi)

The problem today is when it comes to basic products such as food and clothing, many brands started by Jews are now owned by large corporations even companies in the kosher food market are now controlled by big investment firms These investment firms also may own business that are anti Israel or whose policies may be questionable on other grounds. As a rule I shop Jewish, local than general or internet.
