On a chilly winter night, a bustling crowd of over 70 people showed up in Kingston PA for the CHYE “Huddle” Business Networking event – a special seminar that provided Inspiration, Mentoring, and Networking.
Hosted at the new Kingston Kosher Bagel Bar the event was packed with attendees from across the greater region.
Rabbi Yehoshua Werde of CHYE, Co-host of the event, explained “We wanted to reach both the young people just starting their businesses and the more seasoned businesspeople who feel they have much to share, yet still more to learn. Our mission at Huddle is to help the community capitalize on business opportunities” he said.
The evening began with a stirring keynote address delivered by Chuck Cohen, Managing Director at Benco Dental. Mr. Cohen shared ten key business lessons with the group, including the importance of networking, visiting customers, and implementing proper processes and structure.
The talk was followed by mentor exchange roundtables. Tables were set up around the room, each one featuring a different industry leader who answered questions related to a specific area of expertise such as:
1. Scale Your Business – Led by local business magnates Rob Friedman and Jeff Sirota
2. Business Strategy – Led by successful asset manager Jeff Davidowitz
3. Warehousing Strategy – Led by Yanky Bruk of the Digital Pavilion
4. Tech Industry Trends – Led by Mendel Kramer, Senior software engineer at Meta
The event had a special appearance of the Mayor of Kingston and a delegation of elected officials. The Mayor spoke of his willingness to help local businesses thrive and of his commitment to always be there for local entrepreneurs.
Event coordinator Mendel Erlenwein shared, “This event could not have been a greater success, this was a chance to showcase the incredible business community that is growing here in Kingston and to capitalize on the networking opportunities in our very own backyard.”
“This event highlights the incredible growth of the Kingston Jewish community and the fact that this community has become an asset for the local region in terms of commerce and economic development,” says Mr. Motti Hershkop, local philanthropist and owner of the Bagel Bar, Kingston Kosher, and the Kosher Deli. “Working with Yehoshua from CHYE was a pleasure, I look forward to the next event.”
Special thanks to the event committee led by Mendel Erlenwien, Jeff Sirota, Shmuly Hershkop, Alix Sirota, Michael Cutler, and Mendel Posner.
