The Lubavitch Menorah School in Leeds, UK held its Prize Day just before Tisha B’Av.
Pupils, staff and parents were entertained by plays on the theme of Ahavas Yisroel and Perek Lamed Bais of Tanya expertly produced with the help of their enthusiastic teachers.
The crowd was addressed by Dayan Yehudah Refson, principal of the school, who praised the children for excelling in their studies this year.
This was followed by prize giving in which every child present departed with some recognition of their individual worth. He also reminded them of the importance of learning a little Torah every day of the holidays and to be careful to make a kiddush Hashem wherever one goes over the summer holiday, which in the UK begins around this time.
Menorah School has been providing excellent chinuch for the children of shluchim, rabbonim and the frum kehilla of Leeds for 33 years. It also looks after children from cities further away such as Sheffield and Hull. The school has a warm and family atmosphere due to the dedicated commitment of the principal Dayan Refson and his Rebbetzin Mrs. Etty Refson.
