“A Jewish Star Junior” contestant Eli Weiss of Florida showed last week that aside from his music talent he also has good midos – as appropriate for a Bar Mitzvah bochur.
The 7th grader, son of Miami Lakes Shluchim Rabbi Mendy and Tzippy Weiss, presented a donation to Rabbi Benjy Korf, Director of the Lubavitch Educational Center in Miami.
The contribution was part of the gifts he received for his Bar Mitzvah.
In his letter to Rabbi Korf (see below), Eli expresses his sincere gratitude for the education he has received at the school and wishes to “give back” to the institution that has given so much to him.
Rabbi Korf thanked him and said, “In the merit of supporting Torah education, may you grow to be a chossid, yerai shomayim and a lamdan, and serve as an example to your family, friends and community.”
Lubavitch Educational Center, established 37 years ago, is housed in Campus Menachem and includes a preschool, elementary school, Beis Chana Middle and High School for Girls and Klurman Mesivta Middle and High School for Boys.
Weiss is currently competing in A Jewish Star Junior – talent music contest. His audition is a tribute to Rabbi Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg, the slain Shluchim in Mumbai.

when parents like Tzippy and Mendy are always positive about the school and supportive of their children’s education the children feel positive as well about the school… a big sea change of sorts there with children being proud of the school where they do and wanting to be part of the bigger picture… be a partner in the process rather than complaining
