A new sign has been sighted on the outside of the 770-788 Eastern Parkway office building in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights.
A picture of the Rebbe is attached to a quote from a Sicha from Parshas Re’eh 5740. “There has never been a better time to affect another yid in learning Torah.”
The sign is part of a new PR effort of JNet, a Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch branch, to find volunteers for their Torah learning buddies over the telephone.
They are asking for 30 minutes a week, for three months, to learn with someone on the phone.
“Men and women all over the world sign up to JNet to learn more about yiddishkeit,” a JNet official wrote in a press release.
“They come from all kinds of backgrounds at many different levels. They are looking to learn everything from Alef Beis to Parsha to Halacha to Talmud to general discussion about Yiddishkeit.”
To volunteer or for more information go to www.jnet.org or call 718-467-4400.
i think its beautiful and keep up the good work. may this hasten the coming of moshiach
we both know the real numbers.
evrey once in a while i get a call to do a shiur. the simply do not have the pepole.
Judging from your comment you must be one of those people they cant trust teaching someone – so they fond a nice way to tell you no (and thats why the shluchim do trust them)
I know they have more then 1000 active Chevrusa’s every week – and when i speak to my friends on shlichus who use JNet they sing their praise
I was set up with a chevrusa in less then 24 hours and we are learning for close to 2 years
thats funny because when i volunteered i was offered about 10 different ppl…..maybe time to try again
i voulntered a few times, they never have anyone to learn with, it is all PR.
we had a meeting there once, and we were told they are wating for pepole to sign up.
it seems no schluchim are sending balei batam.
What a great way to use the building to get Anash involved in the Rebbes Inyonim
I hope that other orginazation learn to try and reach out to regular Anash
“es past nit”
it’s not nice
these signs are permitted, but signs about moshaich are not allowed, you call them color war signs etc…
just goes to show
i am disapointed.
this is way below cllasy, this does not look like a production from the logo factory.
