The assault of a Chassidic Jewish man by a group of 7 black teens was recorded on surveillance footage which was recently released.
Community activist Yaakov Behrman posted the disturbing video to Twitter, but wrote that the victim does not want to come forward due to his fear of the discovery reform, which may lead to the attacker finding out his identity.
In the video, the group of teens is seen running after the Jewish man, hitting him in the head with a chair. They are then seen chasing him down the block, and one can be seen punching the man in the head.
The incident occurred last Tuesday evening on Lincoln Place near Albany Avenue, the same day another incident occurred in Crown Heights a short while later.
In the second incident, a Jewish man was assaulted by a group of teens on Union Street between Albany and Kingston Avenues at approximately 6:00 pm.
The group of black teenaged males approached him from behind. One of the males punched the Jewish man in the head, while the other took a video of the attack, police said.
The investigation was referred to the Hate Crimes unit and is being treated as a bias attack, NYPD said.
Behrman says he believes it is the same group of teens who have perpetrated both attacks.
Police are searching for the attackers, no arrests have been made.

The second incident took place at 6PM, the first even earlier. It is very normal and expected to be walking around at that time of the evening.

1st rule know when to run. In self defence you should always avoid the situation whether that means dont walk alone or to run. Fighting back aint always the answer. There are 6 against 1 and if you start fighting back it will become more vicious. At this stage its small one or two hit attacks if you fight back tbey will fight more and will also start using weapons if you over power them. Which will mean deaths rather then attacks. It seems that the victim did stand his ground as much as he could (as far as one can see in the video). I do hope he is alright and will gain strength from this. So many police officers, particularly black, in the area are personally ok with attacks on Jewish (or white people) in general. I’ve seen and heard so much to verify this. The criminals get this message loud and clear and that’s where all of this casual unpunished violence starts.
