Shmuel* had ambitions beyond the standard yeshiva experience. Ever since he was a young child, he was fascinated by business, by entrepreneurship, by industry. And so he applied to JETS Yeshiva, which offered a well-balanced program of Judaic studies, vocational training, and recreational activities. At JETS, he knew he could pursue his dreams while deepening his relationship with Hashem and the Rebbe.
Together with a school counselor, Shmuel created a customized schedule based on his interests and goals. He starts off the day learning Chassidus, davening, and attending a Gemara class. After working out at the gym, he begins his business classes. To accelerate his success, Shmuel is enrolled in JETS CARES (Coding, Accounting, Real Estate), an extended learning program. He focuses on Real Estate and Mortgage Banking, where he learns principles and applications of investment analysis, real estate financing, property management, and real estate appraisal. In the evening, he learns Chassidus with his chavrusa.
Perhaps the most impactful part of JETS CARES is the mentoring Shmuel receives from a seasoned real estate investor. Beyond academic knowledge, he’s gaining practical, hands-on experience and valuable networking opportunities. He feels confident that when he graduates JETS, he’ll have all the tools he needs to launch a successful real estate career.
Why is JETS one of the fastest-growing yeshivas today?
Its premise is that students are not meant to be molded to fit into the system. The system is meant to be molded to the students.
So rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, JETS seeks to find the spark within each student. What lights him up? What makes him excited to learn? What are his hobbies, his interests, his passions? And then JETS creates a curriculum that melds passion with profit, giving each student real-world tools to support his future family while staying true to the values of Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit.
As the Rebbe wrote in a letter to the Hanhala of Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva in Israel: “If there are young men who cannot learn in a yeshiva the whole day, for whatever reason, but they are willing to learn a few hours of Nigleh and Chassidus per day if they get a few hours of vocational studies, then it is very important to do so…. This is possible by creating a dedicated institution for learning Torah, Nigleh and Chassidus, and also a trade. And surely such an institution will bring great benefit to young men.”
Shmuel feels fortunate to be part of a yeshiva that truly understands him and fosters his growth. Supported by loving staff and enthusiastic classmates, he’s excited that his dreams are becoming a reality.
