U.S. President Barack Obama‘s step-grandmother underwent emergency eye surgery in an Israeli-run hospital in Equatorial Guinea last week, Adiv Sterman reports in Times of Israel:.
Sarah Onyango Obama, the president’s father’s third wife, lives in the remote Kenyan village of Nyang’oma Kogelo and suffered from an unspecified optical ailment, the website said.
Guinean Health Minister Tomas Mecheba Fernandez escorted the First Step-Grandmother to the hospital in advance of her surgery by a team of Israeli doctors.
The procedure was successful and Obama is making a full recovery, Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Sunday.
“All of Africa is talking about your hospital and of the fact that you don’t need to fly to Europe to get medical treatment,” said an enthusiastic Sarah Obama following her operation.
As reported on COLlive.com, the hospital was inagurated in November 2011 with Rabbi Shlomo Bentolila, Director of Chabad-Lubavitch of Central Africa, placing mezuzas on its doors.
The hospital, founded by Israeli entrepreneurs Yardena Ovadya and Ariyeh Horesh, provides medical treatment for underprivileged residents of Equatorial Guinea and other neighboring countries.
Rabbi Bentolila praised the 100 member staff and the medical assistance that is given at the hospital, blessing that the healing angel Refael will be with the doctors and nurses.

Rabbi Bentolita has been doing unbelievable kiruv work in Africa for many years…. he is a pride and joy to the Rebbe… there’s also a guy who lives in Crown Heights, I will not mention his name, who helped out year after year for Pesach and High Holydays for the rabbi and should be praised highly also… Yasher Koach to everyone. Let the world see how Chabad and the Rebbe has penetrated into this remote part of the world.

Cool story and of course the international media forgets to run stories such as this. As to the fact that she’s Obama Relatives well sadly he’s proven not to care about his less fortunate relatives in the past…..
Maybe they can give her truth serum and find out if he’s really American born.
