Israeli Shluchim Call to Fight Terror

During the 35th annual conference of the group of Shluchim that were personally sent to Israel by the Rebbe, the released a statement in which they urged Israeli leaders to disregard world opinion.

Writing from the central Israeli city of Kfar Saba this weekend, they called not to stop its war against the terrorists even for one minute, until it completely removes any threat to the residents of the Holy Land.

“The entire international outcry is not worth the life of even one Jew! On the contrary, as the Rebbe assured us, the world will ultimately thank Israel for destroying those terrorists, who are threatening global security,” the statement read.

In the 1970’s, the Rebbe sent dozens of his personal emissaries to strengthen Jewish life in Israel. Today, many of them occupy prominent positions as community rabbis and educators.

The statement reads in full:

1) We, the personal emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe to the Holy Land, call on the Government of Israel, the PM and the heads of the defense establishment, to follow the directives which the Rebbe, a true leader, gave in similar situations in the past – not to stop its war against the terrorists even for one minute, until it completely removes any threat to the residents of the Holy Land.

In the past the Rebbe expressed his pained concern and warned against hesitating, because of world opinion, to capture terrorist bases. To our chagrin we have all seen the terrifying results of such hesitation, until this day.

According to the words of the Rebbe, which are anchored in the Halachic ruling of our holy Torah, one must wage a fierce and unrestricted battle in any place from which Israel residents are attacked, to insure that terrorists will not be able to fire even one rocket or mount any terrorist attack against our civilians or soldiers. The entire international outcry is not worth the life of even one Jew! On the contrary, as the Rebbe assured us, the world will ultimately thank Israel for destroying those terrorists, who are threatening global security.

2) We support the tireless efforts of the Rabbinical Congress for Peace (RCP), headed by our fellow emissary, Rabbi Joseph Gerlitzky, which for the past 20 years has been vigorously combating the policies of withdrawal and concessions by Israeli governments. The Committee has repeatedly publicized worldwide the definitive ruling in the Shulchan Aruch (Orach Chaim, Chapter 329) that such concessions are a matter of life or death.

Today the Rabbinical Congress for Peace is actively promoting the Tefillin Campaign, which has the spiritual power to deter the enemy. It has also launched a campaign against stopping in the middle of the war against terrorism. It is making every effort to open the eyes of the nation and its leaders to the reality – that all of our woes have stemmed from giving up territories that were previously under Israeli control. We call upon all those who are in a position to do so, to strengthen the Rabbinical Congress for Peace’s activities.

There is no doubt that once Israeli leaders adhere to the guidance of the unforgettable leader of the Jewish people, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, and act according to the instructions of the Torah of Life, we will merit to see the fulfillment of the Torah’s promise: “May fear and dread befall them; by the might of Your arm may they be still as stone.”
