Israel’s Minister of Heritage Rabbi Amichai Eliyahu began a visit to the United States this week with a visit to the Lubavitcher Rebbe‘s Ohel in Queens, NY.
This was followed by a Farbrengen at Chabad Headquarters, 770 Eastern Parwkay.
The Minister was accompanied by his advisor R’ Yossi Goldberger and activist Rabbi Lazer Avtzon, who coordinated the visit.
During the Farbrengen, the Minister told of his grandfather Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu’s special connection with the Rebbe.
While in Crown Heights, he also met with Rabbi Msohe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos.
The Minister also spent time davening in the Rebbe’s Room and visited the Rebbe’s Libray, the Jewish Children’s Museum and Oholei Torah Yeshiva, where he spoke with students.
