Camp Gan Israel of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills celebrated Israel Week.
Campers learned all about the holiness of Eretz Yisroel and about the 7 fruits of Israel. The camp even had a “shuk day” where the campers were able to juice oranges, taste falafel, and cut up Israeli salad.
Campers also davened for the safety of all the Jewish people living there and gave extra Tzedaka for the Israeli soldiers.
Activities included visiting people in old age homes that are lonely, and doing extra Mitzvot for Israel. On trips the boys started a #tefillin4Israel campaign to find people to do an extra mitzvah for Israel.
Rabbi Amitai Yemini, the camp director, visited Israel this week to show solidarity and support from all the campers at CGI. He went to visit the soldiers at the Gaza Border as well as the wounded soldiers at the Soroka Medical Hospital is Beer Sheva.
Camp Gan Israel of LA and BH was founded by Rabbi Amitai and Fayge Yemini.
We would like to thank the directors for doing such an incredible job, Ms. Chanchie Yemini (mini gan izzy director), Ms. Brocha Yemini (girl’s division director) and Mrs. Miriam Hildeshaim (boys division director) along with all the teachers and staff Members.
