Israel has just partially relaxed their ban on entry of non-citizens into the country, which were enacted due to coronavirus.
Israel is now allowing close relatives and their spouses to attend weddings, Bar and Bas Mitzvos and births.
Close relatives and spouses can now also travel for funerals.
Previously only siblings, parents, and grandparents were allowed to enter the country to attend a wedding. Israel will now allow spouses of siblings and their infant children up to 1-year-old.
Grandparents can now come a month before and stay a month after a birth.
“This is incredible news,” says Shmulik Kravitsky of Sky2000 Travel Agency, who specializes in travel to Israel. “Now many more people will be able to travel to Israel to participate in family simchas and occasions,” he says.
Quarantine rules still apply, travelers must quarantine at home for 14 days upon entry.
“Government authorization and proof of relation is needed for travel,” Kravitsky notes, “so anyone who needs to travel should contact me and we will do our utmost to provide assistance,” he says.
My husband and I need to get to Israel for our grandchild’s birth!!
We would like to arrive Sept 13 ( for our 2 week quarantine) and stay at least a month!!
