Israel on Monday advanced plans to build 800 new settler homes in Judea and Samaria, ABC News reported.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced the move, saying it would include 100 homes in a settlement where an Israeli woman was killed last month in an attack allegedly carried out by a Palestinian assailant.
At a meeting next week, the Civil Administration’s High Planning Committee will approve the construction of 500 housing units in the areas of Itamar, Beit El, Shavei Shomron, Oranit and Givat Ze’ev, the Kan public broadcaster reported.
In addition, the committee will also advance plans to build 100 units in Tal Menashe and more than 200 homes in the Nofei Nehemia outpost.
The announcement will burnish Netanyahu’s right-wing credentials in a tough campaign ahead of March elections, but it could anger Biden, who is opposed to settlement expansion and has clashed with Israel over it in the past.
The move could strain ties with the incoming administration of President-elect Joe Biden, ABC reported.
The Palestinian Authority’s Foreign Ministry condemned the latest announcement, accusing Israel of “racing against time” to build settlements before President Donald Trump leaves office.

That’s a lot of mezuzahs, boruch Hashem. The homes should remain Jewish ownership and the areas should be recognized by all as part of Eretz Yisroel.
Other countries have no business telling Israel what to do, let them leave their noses out of it. No one is telling the U.S. how many houses they are allowed to build.
Establish facts on the ground, to make it that much harder to give Jewish land away to the terrorists.
They would just use it as a staging area for more terrorist attacks, anyway.
G-d forbid.
