Ireland’s De facto Chief Rabbi

At present, plans to appoint a new chief rabbi in Ireland are on hold, partly for financial reasons, and partly, as the community can see that Chabad Rabbi Zalman Shimon Lent, is doing the job himself very efficiently indeed, writes Mishpacha Magazine. Full Story

it’s been my feeling that there are older couples ,retired, who might be interested in doing schlus. either for a short time or for a longer period. most of the older chevra have some pension , can learn and daven and would probably be interested. my wife and i retired from teaching and have found a wonderful schlus although not on the books. it doesn’t matter. the point is that there are many older couples that have what you need and you have what they need; a chance to have a meaningful life.

Rabbi Lent is an accomplished scholar and author; a gentleman with a dry sense of British humor.
He is a kind man with a disarming manner; he brings honor to the Queen and the Commonwealth.
I am sure we will see even greater things from him yet,
chief rabbi or not.
Signed,
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

…..and awesome people! They work soooo hard and are really nice, genuine people, raising a beautiful family and at the same time completely dedicated to the community. The article didn’t mention how hard Rifky works too – especially cooking up a storm for Shabbosim and yomim tovim for the many many guests they have in their welcoming home. Anyone visiting Ireland, know that you are so welcome there.

good luck rabbi lent on the school!
