Every few weeks, a beautiful photo is posted on COLlive.com show-casing a young, smiling family starting their life on Shlichus. The joy and excitement are streaming from the eyes of the young man, woman, and even the baby. They are living their dream to join the mission of the Rebbe.
Yet many of these young couples readily dedicate their lives to shlichus without the safety-net of a monthly salary. The mad scramble for funds begins right from the start. It is too early to have a list of reliable donors. So how will the couple afford a home? What about food and chinuch for the children? Will they be able to rent a storefront or a small space for their Chabad House?
Enter NewShliach.com, the brainchild of Aron Pinson, a resident of Crown Heights and Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Equinum Wealth Management firm.
Pinson is one of the many who often meet a young aspiring shliach walking around 770 Eastern Parkway with a PayPal swiper, asking for donations for his new Shlichus. “It’s daunting,” Pinson told COLlive.com. “Usually, the couple needs at least $50,000 to $100,000 to start.”
That’s why he started NewShliach.com, which makes each new shliach eligible for a $1,800 grant. He created the platform to jump-start the fundraising process for new shluchim, easing the financial burdens of the first year.
Pinson and his wife Shani have already pledged $400,000 to the project which is now available to new shluchim that established their organization / 501(c)(3) in the last 12 months.
“Together, we can support the shluchim who dedicate their lives to the Rebbe’s inyonim, teaching Torah and mitzvos to Jews across the globe,” he says.

How special for these shluchim – giving them this boost right as they leave everything familiar to start out on their own, and without making them shnor for it. I am truly inspired. Beautiful to see our own supporting our own in this way. Hashem should bench the Pinsons!
