Dear COLlive,
I would love to let your readers know how important Tzedaka is.
You see, the tzedaka I receive is done in a sensitive and meaningful way. I do not know who my benefactors are as they give simply knowing that others will surely benefit from this worthy cause.
Mrs. Devorah Scheiner has been an incredible resource for indigent families. I have received phone calls during the Yom Tov seasons to pick up food that is not only high quality but incredibly generous in quantities.
When my son had his Bar Mitzvah, I phoned Mrs. Scheiner and she discreetly gave me shoe vouchers. She even wanted to know if my makeup and shaitle were being done!
Most recently, I was given a generous sum of money to go to Gourmet Glatt and was able to buy my family food with dignity and reassurance that I was able to afford it. I was able to buy meat and beautiful vegetables. When I made suppers for the week my kids immediately noticed the upgrade of our dinner menu.
As a divorced mother, having certain foods grade my table is nothing short of a luxury. I simply budget and rely on incredible organizations to help me feed my family.
I am not on public assistance as I am considered what you call, the working poor. I am like everyone else on the outside, even on the inside, but financial burden is on my shoulders alone, regardless of how I carry myself or how brightly I smile, no one knows the struggles I face on a daily basis. My income barely meets my monthly financial obligational needs.
Personally, I have never been turned down by Mrs. Scheiner whenever I called for help. She truly is a remarkable woman who advocates and graciously assists families in need. She has an enormous heart. She truly does care.
I hope when people are giving tzedaka, they will give it Mrs. Scheiner. Every dime of tzedaka she raises is tax deductible and goes straight to needy families. From the divorced woman, to the struggling intact families. Regardless of familiar circumstances, Mrs. Scheiner helps these families in time of need. If there ever is a worthy organization, it is hers.
Please help other just like me by making a donation of any amount at chcentral.org/donate.
Sincerely,
Chana

Hashem should bless you with only continued good health and strength to keep up your vital work. You have been so gracious to the two of us taking us shopping for groceries, sponsoring school shoes, and providing for Yom Tov neccessities. Chazak V’ematz!
With gratitude,
Two Crown Heights mothers
Incredible work you do!
There are no words to describe the unbelievable chesed that Mrs Scheiner does to help provide delicious food for so many families that could not otherwise afford it, whether for Yom Yov or during the year, all done mit a fullen hant and in a very discreet and bakovodiken manor!
Devorah Scheiner is really a remarkable woman! She should be well and her family should be very proud of her!
I can say I have seen first hand the amount of chessed that Devora does for all this on need!
