In defiance of Mayor Bill Deblasio, a group of Crown Heights activists broke the locks on Lefferts Park Tuesday afternoon.
Children and families could be seen moments later entering and enjoying the park.
Boro Park activist and radio host Heshy Tischler will also bring his fight to open parks for New York children to the Crown Heights neighborhood today.
Tischler, a vocal critic of NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio, has been protesting the continued shuttering of the neighborhood parks. He has publicly busted open a number of New York City parks in the past few days in defiance of the Mayor’s orders.
Following opening parks in Williamsburg and Boro Park, Tischler’s protests have gone viral, gaining national attention.
Senator Ted Cruz tweeted “Bravo” to a tweet about the breaking open of one of the parks.
NYS Senator Simcha Felder tweeted Monday night, “We’ve asked nicely and waited patiently. We’ve made every logical argument. The people have spoken and they’re running out of patience. If @nycmayor won’t open ALL our playgrounds @SEichenstein @KalmanYeger and I will cut the locks open ourselves.
Tischler will be protesting and breaking the locks at Brower Park, at at 5:30 PM
He will later go to Lincoln Terrace Park as well.
Update: Officers of the NYPD were quick to lock up Lefferts Park.
Good to hear, thanks
thank you
For standing up to this nonsense and hypocrisy.
Kol hakavod!
Let us remember, it is our community “leaders” who keep telling us to vote for these democrats. We need to vote for a different party. But before that, we neean election to elect new vaad for our community, who won’t pander to the liberal politicians in exchange for phot ops.
No one supported the mayor more than Williamsburg.
Please go vote in the elections and make a difference.
When a community supports the Democrats reflexively, because of “benefits” or whatever, they thereby show that they’re willing to be stepped on, and will just take it and continue voting for them. Let them have to work for our votes with actual actions, not just nice words and photo ops.
Every word you say is 100% correct, but the masses in CH are afraid of their own shadows and think that by following these “leaders” their lives will be better.
How is that working out for you so far??
tizcu lamitzvos
Thank you for stepping up!
Very much appreciated !
No one gets a pass on breaking the law, even if you disagree with it.
Do the Jewish kids who broke into 770 now get to say, we don’t have to respect authority?
I think the Black Lives Matter protesters who took over public streets without a valid permit, have rubbed off on their more kosher neighbors who are trying out disobedience and law breaking.
There is a public health crisis, made worse by people who ignore the rules and think that they are above the law.
For us to do nothing would be a chilul hashem, it would show that we are spineless pushovers. By us standing up for our rights as americans, we are making a big Kiddush hashem. Ted Cruz seems to agree
The difference being, 770 is a private place and the parks are public, if they can loot and riot in public then we can play on public parks.
You continue to inspire ! A chossid and an inspiration ! As a side note , it’s time to stop voting for these lame democrats just for the few free dollars they throw at you .
See the pix of thousands congregating. No more words, take back the parks.
Maybe he should have asked a Rav first? The media is in control.
Are we now in a Socialist Regime ?
Was there earlier, the playground was open
This is a great park that will help many families when opened.
now bust open the day camps!
and the police locked it up again 🙁
It was against the law to close the parks!!
