Volunteers of the Released Time program gathered for a welcome lunch Wednesday, at the start of the new school year.
During the lunch a new program was introduced to the bochurim volunteers by Reuven Kaminetsky, called the “I-Jew Club” initiative, a program designed to help children excel in advancing their Torah and Mitzvos. The “I-Jew Club” also offers a state-of-the-art call-in system, where children will have the ability to register mitzvos they have done via a phone call, and receive rewards on a weekly basis.
The bochurim showed a lot of enthusiasm about the various features of the new initiative.
A video of the Rebbe was shown, of the various farbrengens when the Rebbe spoke about Release Time and the importance of the program.
Introduced by the MC Levi Mentz, Rabbi Shazak Zirkind, senior director of the program, addressed the bochurim with motivational words on the importance that Released Time had to the Rebbe, and inspiring them to personally take the privilege and responsibility to carry through a successful Wednesday hour class.
Rabbi Shea Hecht addressed the bochurim about the importance of the continuous growth of the program by reaching every Jewish child in New York.
Bochurim were also addressed by Rabbi Shimon Rivkin and Rabbi Sadya Pewsner with practical guidance on how to recruit children and run a successful lesson.
Ruvi your a legend!!!
Your months of selfless devotion and hard work did not go unnoticed.
Go Reuvi …………
Man of Vision. Man of Action.
You are an inspiration to us all.
A great big yasher Koach to Reuven Kaminetzky. This initiative is his brainchild (I think that is the right term). Not only is he ambitiously creating a proper, refreshed curriculum for RT for the first time ever, but he is revolutionizing an approach to extra-curricular education for these children, which no doubt will be emulated by many organizations, schools, Camps and Chabad Houses. Thank you Ruvi.
