Thanks for another one of your fun quizzes.
Yerushalayim is truly the most beautiful and special city in the whole world. Agree with number1. Can’t wait for Moshiach to get here and we’ll all be there.

Nice quiz

Nice quiz for yom yerushalayim, the day yerushalayim came into our hands, chof ches Iyar. The Republicans party’s policy is to move the us embassy to yerushalayim. I think by AIPAC Trump said he’ll move it. Let’s just hope it’s not empty words. It’s time for the world to recognise the true capital, and that from the Yarden to the Yam Hagadol is ours.

#5 The mishna does not say anything at all
June 5, 2016 8:34 pm

…about the gates of Yerushalayim. There is no mention anywhere in the mishna of how many there were at any point in history.

To number 5

The present walls of Yerusholayyim were not built until the 16th Century. So there cannot possibly be any discussion in the Mishna about how many gates are in the walls.

The current walls were built by Suleiman the Magnificent, who provided them with six gates; several older gates, which had been walled up before the arrival of the Ottomans, were left as they were. As to the previously sealed Golden Gate, Suleiman at first opened and rebuilt it, but then walled it up again as well. The number of operational gates increased to seven after the addition of the New Gate in 1887; a smaller eighth one, the Tanners’ Gate, has been opened for visitors after being discovered and unsealed during excavations in the 1990s.

How many gates to the old city?
June 5, 2016 4:28 pm

In the Mishna there is a machlokes if there are 5 or 7, and the Rebbe has a Shicha discussing how it’s possible to be a machlokes be’mitzius. But how did you get to 8?

2 right

And never been

Question 8 is factually wrong

While the Rebbe did launch the Tefilin campaign, the Kotel was only freed from Jordanian rule during the 6 day war, therefore, the Tefillin stand could not have been established before the 6 day war.

6 right – and I live here!

How I wish
June 5, 2016 3:06 pm

I could live there! I say to the young people who are not going on Shlichus. Move to the Holy Land before it becomes too hard to make the move. Unemployment there is currently lower then in the USA. Healthcare and tuition are mostly covered by the government (two huge expenses in the US for afrum families). And although home prices in the big cities there are extremely expensive like in the US and all big cities in the western world, in the Holy land you can live in a smal town with affordable housing and still have all the… Read more »
