How Can We Get Our Teens to Put Down Their Phones?

Soooo creative and innovative. Instead of top down decrees which don’t work or completely ignoring the issue, educate and encourage. I love it.

The best program

My daughter is part of the club! What an amazing initiative by these to incredible mothers. Even if my daughter wasn’t going to get a cellphone, now she feels “cool” and like she is “winning ” and loves to be part of something so special. Can’t thank Esti and Rivkah enough! Thank you! Thank you!!

Wonderful way to reach the student! To start off comparing it with a chocolate!
I can understand the excitement and motivation the girls feel-because they understand the concept of giving up their phones
Congratulations to the dedication of both mothers.

if parents put down their phone, so will the kids

BS”D
When both parents have kosher (talk only) phones?
So will the children follow suit

Not necessary

Children should learn that not everything that adults can do is suitable for them

That’s a stupid opinion

That’s a stupid opinion, because children automatically learn from what they see! And also, parents should be present for their children, not glued to a rectangular piece of glass. ADULTS need to learn that not everything society does, is suitable for them. Be present for your children, and they won’t feel the need to get validation from online sources.

Teachers too!

from the ground up

Ban grade/school google group chats. The girls feel left out if they can’t chat with the girls who have google chats, so they pressure their parents for a device. If schools would ban these groups from the outset, it may help.
Otherwise, kol hakovod for making a tech-less life more appealing.

Great concept!

Love how this encourages children to stay present and appreciate life around them, instead of some imaginary life in an alternate reality. Great job on the video Molly Schwartz!

Incredible!

Wow! Genius idea!! Hopefully this will carry on to all our schools!

Teens grow up seeing their mommies constantly on their phones. The first step is for the mommies to put down their phones!

I agree

People learn by example, and follow what their elders do. So maybe the actual solution is to have the adults ACT like adults.

Wow!
June 2, 2024 10:08 pm

Absolutely love how these mothers didn’t go with the stream of giving in and buying a phone for their teen… they a leaders in every sense of the word

Wow incredible!!!
June 2, 2024 10:21 pm

Bring this to crown heights!!!

Fantastic
