    Seriously where is our security on the streets?
    Put cops on foot and keep us safe,
    these photo op models the same for the past 30 years do not represent us, it’s time for new faces and action!!! We thank the past but the time has come for people who care for us today!!

    Democracy in CH ?

    What does Torah say about the concept of Vaads, Jewish councils and regular elections ?

    DiBlasio went to CUBA when travel there was banned, was part of a Nicaraguan type socialist group years ago…

    In CH, there are no elections, no public meetings on Jewish issues, just directions on who to vote for.

    The only thing the yids can look forward to is a few comments on electronic media for otherwise there will be retribution by those in power in CH.

    We need more Police on foot patrols, but we also need to take personal responsibility for our safety. We need to be given the Tools by “NYC & NYS” to protect our self. A good example would be, programs to help people responsibly conceal carry guns, and have firearms training.

    WHAT OUR COMMUNITY DESPERATELY NEEDS IS LOW TO MODERATE HOUSING, NOT PHOTO OPS. OUR COMMUNITY LEADERS OF THE LAST 15 YEARS HAVE NOT ONLY DISMALLY FAILED TO PROVIDE ANY, AND IN FACT HAVE EVEN GIVEN SOME OF IT AWAY ( CROWN AND ALBANY ). WE HAVE A FEW OF OUR OWN COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS AND PHILANTROPHISTS THAT ARE MEGA-LANDLORDS, AND THAT ARE IN A POSITION TO HELP ALLEVIATE THIS ISSUE, BUT WE HAVE NOT SEEN ONE IOTA OF EFFORT ON THEIR PART.

    There is a large amount of NYS land South of Winthrop, North of Clarkson, West of Utica, East of Albany that can be developed into affordable housing for families. Unfortunately millions in affordable housing have been going for the homeless and seriously mentally ill BECAUSE – they have a lobby – BECAUSE the Jewish community in CH is NOT INTERESTED IN SECULAR ISSUES LIKE THIS. How many people go to Community Board meetings? Most of the Jews on the community board are themselves receiving government funds, which is a total conflict of interest. When was the last time there was… Read more »

    BS”D adding to comment # 1-Did you see where the new Attorney General of NY stated that come January she will be going after Trump on various fronts as well as those close to him. Pure hatred. And our powers that be endorsed her despite her above statements, now repeated, that if elected she is going after him. These people need to RESIGN immediately or shown the door. Added to comment # 6 I am not sure sure that Rabbi F fits into that categorization as he has refused to purchase properties they are priced so high that when he… Read more »

    To #6 . The massive property that you described is owned by the State of New York and is the former site Downstate Developmental and has been vacant for years . Recently the Governor announced that the site will be developed working class housing and the Agency that will lead the development is called Camba a well known housing Agency which is in our area . The Machars in our Community should get together with them and discuss our housing needs . This property is a lot closer than East Flatbush or Brownsville where people are moving to now .

    CAMBA = HOMELESS SHELTERS

    CAMBA’s website says describes itself as follows: “Over the past quarter-century, CAMBA has created a comprehensive, multi-pronged approach to addressing New York City’s housing crisis. Our services and solutions include: Homeless Shelters: Our emergency shelters serve families and individuals, including those living with a serious mental illness or HIV/AIDS. We operate a drop-in center for homeless adults during the day and overnight beds in volunteer-run shelters at churches and synagogues. Wow, from the last few comments, which ring true in my eyes, looks like we need leadership that will actually do things. If we can stop the homeless shelters let’s do it.
