Would those commenting please contain the urge to post unkind comments. “Just because you have the right to say something doesn’t mean it is right to say it.” And show some civility towards public officials who are working to help.

Thank you Debbie

SMR is a lubavitcher and that’s the extent of “Lubavitch” in this. Rubashkin’s persecution is a Jewish issue not a Lubavitch one!

Eric Holder is ruining American justice.

Getting the unjust sentence reversed is not necessarily the main point of the hearing. Hopefully, the appeals process will take care of that. The main point is to hold the Justice Department (part of the Executive Branch of government) accountable when it abuses its powers (in this case abuse of power and improper behaivior on the part of the prosecuting attorneys), and to correct whatever the particular situation is. This is excercise of the Checks and Balances (between government branches) feauture of our Constitution.

That our prayers are being answered and things are actually starting to advance, even if just a bit.

An ignoramus wondering
May 5, 2011 11:21 am

Does this new development, beyond being symbolic, actually hold practical hope for an eased sentence for Sholom? In other words, what weight do these petitions hold? Can Congress make enough of a stink that it would force the Justice system to give in?

thankyou for keeping us updated

Thank G-d we have people with brains taking a stand to bring true Justice to America. G-d bless America! R. Rubashkin’s case was laden with injustice and prejudice, including legal work that was not on par with what our country stands for. Thank you so much and keep up the great work!
