the only person who makes no blunders is the one who does nothing!
as far as “relizing” (spell that “reAlizing” from the root word “real”) that he would lose because his son lost, you’re not giving people enough credit. Mr.. Hikind has done enough for his community to make them want to keep him in office. whether his son has a political future or not remains to be seen; the day is still young. i would venture to guess, however, that #5 wouldn’t accept being judged by the failures of his/her own adult next of kin…

Dov Hikind did a tremendous amount of good, but he also made some major blunders. But it will be a huge loss overall for Jewish community interests in Albany.

Excellent politicians who delivered results for his constituents, and a fine member of the tribe who cared about Jews, both near and afar.

A very good example of what Crown Hts could achieve if they had an elected official who cared.

He was officially affiliated with the Democratic party.
In essence his tactics proved himself more conservative than most People claimed to be.

A loss for our community

this is a loss- End of an era. No one is perfect. But we all can agree that Dov fought for the Jewish Community- especially for the ” little” man. He pushed tooth and nail into causes that were important for his community. One thing is for certain- the man took ACTION and made things happen. Not a photo op politician that the new generation seems to have spawned. Hopefully, the younger ” askanim” and politicians can learn from Dov that you need to DELIVER results to earn respect. Crown Heights is due a RESULTS person. Example: Lefferts Park, our… Read more »

Did lots of good, but we would be remiss if we didn’t point out that the activity on behalf of Soviet Jewry was often misguided.
