Among the devastation in Houston following Hurricane Harvey is a shining light – in the form of a Kiddush Hashem taking place.
A group of Hatzalah members from NY, LA and other cities around the USA, have traveled to Houston, Texas to help out with rescue efforts following the epic devastation from Hurricane-turned-Tropical Storm Harvey.
The group includes Doctors, Paramedics and EMTs, and they are working hand in hand with the National Guard and local authorities in rescuing people trapped in high flood waters and/or delivering Kosher food to many stranded people.
The group is coordinated by Jet911, led by veteran Queens Hatzolah Paramedic Eli Rowe.
One of the group participants said that the emergency personnel was touched with the fact that the group traveled across the country with all types of advanced equipment to try and save lives.
Many of the attached photos were taken just moments ago by the Jet911 Team, and give readers a first-hand view of the catastrophic devastation.

Dear Houston Yid:
These volunteers paid for food for the Houston community paid for by Mr. Rowe and other volunteers and dropped it off at the Chabad Center for the people of Houston and then distributed lots of money to many families of the Meyerland Minyan community. I know personally because my family members were direct recipients. I suggest you contact the Moskowitz’s to verify your facts! This was a beautiful tzedakah mission and me and my family are so grateful!
WAY TO GO!!!

KOL HAKAVOD
As a member of the Houston Jewish community, I’d just like to say that using our disaster to conduct PR games is sad. I can’t speak for all the volunteers that came in but the focus of your story, Mr. Rowe did not buy supplies for the community. He and his team bought food but for themselves and they came in on what seems like a mission to take PR videos and photos in communities that were already evacuated. Looks good for cameras but everyone on the Jewish community here in Houston is not fooled by these hucksters.
While his family is leaving Los Angeles , he is in Houston helping. Kol Hakavod to Ettil for handling the transition to Cleveland.
You both will be truly missed here!
