On Thursday, the 4th of Cheshvan (October 22), HaMesivta in Crown Heights celebrated the opening of a dormitory to host bochurim from out of town.
A special Farbrengen was held at the dormitory, in attendance was Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Moshe Lieblich, Brooklyn Heights Shliach Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin and his father, Reb Benzion Raskin of BenZi’s Gourmet whose marked his birthday.
Rabbi Raskin mentioned Rabbi Yosef Chaim Zonnenfeld (1849-1932), the Chief Rabbi of Yerushalayim during the years of the British Mandate. Though not a Chossid, Rabbi Zonnenfeld would immerse daily in the mikvah. When asked by his colleagues ‘why do you immerse in the mikvah?
He responded, ‘Do you have any idea of the power of the mikvah? Do you know what the mikvah can do for you? Think about it. A non-Jew who immerses in the mikvah, when he comes he is Jewish. The individual is totally transformed. If the mikvah can do this for someone not born a Jew, just imagine what it could do for a Jew.”
At the end of the Fabengren, Mezuzas were placed on the doors.

It’s amazing to have a school with a good general studies program but also have a yeshiva that is on par with the Yeshivot of today,
I don’t know how they did it but the yeshiva has a name of being on par with the top Lubavitcher Yeshivot.
Keep it up.
Hamesivta is doing a great job with our children. Rabbi Lieblich is constantly there for the boys and looking for ways that they could grow more and enjoy and feel good about it.
