The Jewish Girls Retreat, a project of Jewish Girls Unite – a global community for Jewish girls of all backgrounds ages 8-16 will hold its annual JGR Summer Leadership Retreat from August 20-27. The exciting 7 Day Retreat will take place at a scenic campsite with a Lakefront in East Greenbush, NY.
The Summer Retreat will launch JGU’s theme which will be “Voices of Leadership – Sarah’s Voice of Kindness.” Through leadership workshops, creative art clubs, nature adventure, and trips, campers will discover their strengths of Sarah. Francisca, singer and songwriter will be the featured guest at the annual JGR Summer Concert. The campers will star in a music video, create a virtual art gallery and experience the wonders of G-d’s creation through hiking, adventure trips, swimming, and sports.
Rabbi Avraham and Nechama Laber, Camp Directors since 2001 will be joined by Camp Chefs – Binyomin and Gita Gammal, Admin – Chaya Shepherd, Program Director – Chana Laber and Head Counselors – Chana Yerushalmi, Miriam Chazan, Chaya Liberow and Rivka Lazarus and a group of devoted counselors.
In a warm and nurturing atmosphere, campers are empowered to use their talents to light up the world as leaders and future mothers. “We are so excited to offer every girl the opportunity to shine her light, in her unique way,” said Nechama Laber, Founder and director.
For anyone who is still looking for a life-changing summer experience in a warm, creative and accepting environment, there are still a few spots left for girls ages 8-16.

As a counselor in the past, I can say from experience that every girl truly shines at JGR!
Most amazing head counslers out there
Had an amazing experience.
Thank You, Nechama Laber!
As a past staff member I can personally say that Nechama devotes herself intirely to the well being of the girls. Creating a home away from home and a truly fun filled summer, JGR was one of my most rewarding camp I’ve worked in.
Good luck Nechama! Keep up the amazing work.
