3 classes. 19 girls. 7 volunteers. 57 brushes. 76 paint palettes. 1 award winning, super talented, and dedicated artist. Allow us to introduce Estee Klein, owner of Brush Strokes by Estee.
It is almost impossible for you not to have heard of Estee Klein. Her murals can be seen on walls across the country, as well as overseas. Her classes are offered in Crown Heights for young and old. Did you know, however, that Estee Klein worked with the Friendship Circle in the past? Yes, she has! Her annual painting of the windows, at the Friendship Circle Chanuka Event, are always a crowd pleaser.
Recently, Estee ran three consecutive classes for young ladies with special needs, as part of the preparation for the upcoming Friendship Circle Art Gallery “The Art of Friendship”. In her first class, Estee taught the girls how to use acrylic paint, Each girl produced a beautiful sunset painting, on canvas, using the techniques they learnt.
In her second class, the girls painted to music, creating a design that conveyed the emotions that the music conjured in their minds. The unique structure, of ever changing lines and swirls, was then painted using vibrant, liquid watercolors.
In her final class, Estee demonstrated the use of strong contrasting values of color, to create stunning compositions of hydrangea flowers, using pointillism.
‘’I was so impressed with the talent and creativity that each girl displayed. Their art was a direct expression of their personality. It was a joy to work with these girls, and the volunteers were so helpful. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to teach such an amazing group!’’ It seems Estee enjoyed herself as much as the girls she taught!
The Friendship Circle would like to thank Estee Klein for lending her time and expertise to this program.
The Friendship Circle will be auctioning off these pieces at ‘The Art of Friendship’ event on May 4th. For more information, sponsorship opportunities or donations, please contact [email protected] or visit www.FCBrooklyn.com/ART
