The graduating class of 2018 proudly took to their seats last week as their ceremony began. The 8th grade class of Chabad Girls Academy proudly greeted family and friends in their maroon caps and gowns. There were neat rows of chairs set up and beautiful artwork painted by the students on display for all to enjoy. The event took place in the Rubashkin home which was generously offered.
Introducing the graduates and acting as MC was a graduate herself, Menucha Gohnmardhi. She welcomed the guests and family members, and introduced the founder of CGA, Mrs. Devorah Leah Angyalfi. Mrs. Angyalfi addressed the crowd with an inspiring dvar torah and she also highlighted the achievements and growth of the students throughout the year. She thanked all teachers and staff members for their incredible dedication to the students and for working together as an amazing team.
The graduates were then awarded with a diploma completing their elementary school studies along with a beautiful book about the Rebbe titled “My Story” as a farewell gift. One by one each graduate was called upon to give a speech. Each girl warmly expressed her experiences at school. They thanked their parents and teachers, and shared a specific lesson they had learned this year that helps them grow as a chossid. Valedictorian was presented to Shaina Sassonkin and Salutatorian to Sara Levine.
Appreciation was given to the school board members and parents were presented with beautiful flower arrangements from the Mimulo flower shop. The graduates were also grateful for their graduation trip to a ropes course and zip lining park, which gave them a wonderful feeling of teamwork and accomplishment. Students completed the year on a very positive high and the school is looking forward to a fantastic upcoming school year.
Message from a Parent
“We have been blessed for the past two years to have our daughter leave home to go to school with a smile and come home smiling. Chabad Girls Academy has had such a positive impact on my daughter. We as parents are lucky to have a school that gave our daughter the tools to learn and succeed. She is more confident, has an amazing group of friends and we owe it that to the CGA staff who really love each girl as an individual and inspire them to do and be the best they can be, and not for anyone else but for themselves. Self worth makes a happier child and a happier child is more successful. We love CGA and are looking forward to what next year will offer.”
