Mesivta Thornhill – Ohr Temimim Lubavitch:
With gratitude to Hashem Yisborach and with the Rebbe’s brochos, we are pleased to share that B”H the Mesivta has purchased a property for its new building, located within a few minute walk from our current location.
This is a huge milestone in the development of the Mesivta. “Having a place that a bochur can call his own adds pride and a sense of belonging which are so important to a bochur’s spiritual growth,” said Rabbi Baruch Zaltzman, Dean.
The building of four floors, comprised of close to 28,000 sq ft will house the complete Mesivta with all of its needs and amenities, including a mikva and the dormitory. Building plans are being developed and in due time we hope to start construction.
The purchase transaction took place on the eve of Rosh Chodesh Kilsev and was a gift to the Rebbe in honor of the Rosh Chodesh Kislev Yom Tov.
Our staff; Rabbi Eliezer Posner, Menahel, Rabbi Menachem M. Shusterman, Rabbi Mendel Landa and Rabbi Moshe Hus, along with the talmidim and Anash community are very excited about the Mesivta’s progress, and are looking forward to this new development.
The building plans are being carefully constructed along with the input of various yeshivas and institutions who have built similar facilities. The bochurim themselves are giving ideas that will be taken into account so this project can be as complete as possible.
For now we continue to enjoy our current 770 Chabad Gate location and we thank the LYO – Chabad Lubavitch administration; Rabbi Zalman A. Grossbaum, Head Shliach Southern Ontario and Rabbi Moshe Spalter – Administration. They are always there to make sure that the yeshiva staff and bochurim are comfortable and their facility needs are met.
We wish our bochurim and staff continued hatzlocho Begashmiyus and Beruchniyus.
Sponsorship opportunities will be made available in the near future. For more information about the Mesivta, please follow visit www.ohrtemimim.com .
