Chabad of Hunterdon County will be holding its Fifth Annual Auction fundraiser on Sunday, March 2, 2014.
Proceeds from the auction will provide educational scholarships to local families in need. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit The Child Development Center at the Hunterdon Medical Center. The Child Development Center helps treat special needs children and adolescents who have autism, difficulties learning or other developmental delays providing skilled and comprehensive diagnostic testing and treatment designed to meet the individual needs of each child.
Chabad of Hunterdon has provided over 100 educational scholarships over the past four years as a result of the annual auction proceeds.
“This year we are proud to partner with the Child Development Center, which has really grown over the years and the community’s demand for their services has increased,” said Chabad of Hunterdon Director, Rabbi Eli Kornfeld. “Being able to provide some additional resources to the center as well as community awareness about the good work they provide is core to Chabad’s mission,” he said.
“The Child Development Center is a unique model in the state of New Jersey; it’s the only community hospital that delivers this level of care,” says Carol Klein, administrator and director of the Child development Center. “It’s great for a community hospital to partner with Chabad to help create greater awareness and support. We greatly appreciate their efforts.”
“It is important for a community to lend support and to rally together to help those who are experiencing challenges, especially for the increasing need for services for children with special needs,” says community member and auction committee member Stephanie Mraz.
The auction features 60 prize packages valued at close to $100,000. The grand prize is a once in a life time opportunity for a thrill ride in a military grade Fighter Jet. Some of the other prizes include the hard to get Google Glass, a trip for two to Israel or anywhere in Europe, Apple iMac, Macbook, iPad Air, iPod, iPad Mini, , $1000 Visa gift card, art pieces from Chagall and Harry Guttman, luxurious jewelry from Local Jewelers Sherman and Roman jewelers, one week vacation getaway and much more.
